Our 7-Step Exterior Painting Process
1. Pressure wash — every square foot of siding, trim, soffits, and fascia washed with low-pressure soft-wash to remove dirt, mildew, and chalking. 2. Scrape & sand — all loose and peeling paint mechanically removed down to a sound surface, then feathered with 80-grit sandpaper. 3. Caulk & seal — every seam, joint, window casing, and door frame caulked with paintable elastomeric sealant. 4. Prime bare wood — oil-based stain-blocking primer on every spot of bare wood (latex primer is not enough in New England). 5. Two finish coats — premium Sherwin-Williams Duration or Benjamin Moore Aura applied with brush, roller, or sprayer depending on surface. 6. Trim & accents — windows, doors, shutters, railings, and architectural details painted by hand for crisp lines. 7. Final walkthrough — daylight inspection with you before any final payment.
